Join us for an evening exploring how Darwinians are creating and working with NGOs and charities to support international development and respond to global challenges.

Students, alumni, and Fellows are warmly invited to come together for an engaging discussion and an opportunity to connect with members of the wider Darwin community.

Panel Discussion

The discussion will be chaired by the Professor Fiona Karet, and will bring together three Darwinians with experience across charitable organisations and international development.

Dr Emily Gardner
PhD Biology, 1993

Emily is co-founder and trustee of KICK, a charity supporting cultural, educational, and sporting activities for disadvantaged children and young people in London.

Mr Luca Canal
MPhil Advanced Engineering, 2019

Since 2019, Luca has been a trustee of Martha's Dream, a charitable organisation founded in 2013 with a mission to provide free education to children in Nigeria.

Dr Bea Simpson
MPhil Education with Globalisation and International Development; PhD Education, 2018

Bea is one of the founders of Tusome Africa, a charity working to increase access to quality education for children in Uganda.
